Langtang Valley Trek

Langtang is a region in the Himalayas of Nepal to the north of the Kathmandu Valley and bordering Tibet. The Langtang National Park is located in the area. About 4,500 people live inside the park, and many more depend on it for timber and firewood. The majority of the residents are Tamang.

The park contains a wide variety of climatic zones, from subtropical to alpine. Approximately 25% of the park is forested. Trees include the deciduous oak and maple, evergreens like pine, and various types of rhododendron. Animal life includes the Himalayan black bear, the goat-like Himalayan tahr, rhesus monkeys and red pandas. There are also stories of Yeti sightings. The park contains the Gosainkunda lakes, sacred to Hindus. Pilgrimages are made there in August. Another spiritual site is the Buddhist monastery Kyanjin Gompa.

Langtang valley is located north of Kathmandu valley and sits in narrow mountain valleys at the foot of the Himalayas. The trails of Langtang Valley Trek offers the surreal world of mountains, glaciers, forests, and rivers. The scenery of Langtang region is remarkable and enthralling at the same time. Langtang Valley Trek rewards you with ethnic villages and monasteries that depict the distinct culture and lifestyle of Langtang region. Langtang Valley Trek, for its proximity with the capital, is the most viable trek that offers Himalayan panorama as well as the culture without having to take on a tough trek to higher elevations. <p> After arrival at Kathmandu airport, you will be picked up from the airport and transferred to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel and get refreshed and rest. Walk around the place in the evening. Overnight in the hotel.</p>

<p> After breakfast, drive to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as Monkey Temple, from where a panoramic view of Kathmandu city can be seen. Then, visit Boudhanath Stupa, the biggest stupa in Nepal and one of the bigger stupas in the world. You then visit Pashupatinath Temple which is one of the holiest shrines in the entire Hindu world. A route of the Pashupatinath area takes people past a sixth-century statue of Brahma, the creator, and numerous other temples. There are rows of Shiva monuments, and Hindu pilgrims from all over South Asia come to offer prayers and worship Shiva. Overnight in the hotel.</p>

<p> After breakfast, we drive to Syabrubensi, the beginning point for the Langtang Valley Trek. The roads are quite uneven and bumpy yet entertaining. Experience the amazing view of Manaslu (8156m), Annapurna (8091m), and Ganesh Himal (7422m) during drive by our private land cruiser. Overnight in lodge.</p>

<p> Descend to the camping area and pass the suspension bridge over Bhote Koshi River and follow the river towards Thulo Syabru for a while. Continue walking alongside Bhote Koshi River to arrive in Bamboo, and crossing the bamboo forest, climb up to Rimche and then to Lama Hotel with a view of the Langtang range. O/N at lodge.</p>

<p> After breakfast, we leave Lama Hotel and start to gain elevation. The first part of the trek slowly ascends. We cross different Buddhist Mani walls, Chortens, villages, and forests as we enjoy the tranquil nature. Climb uphill to see Langtang Lirung (7234m) and continue walking towards Ghodatabela. The trail widens and passes few herders’ settlements. We might spot few local birds and white monkeys as we trek inside Langtang National Park to reach the Tamang village of Langtang. O/N at a lodge.</p>

<p> Climb gradually to pass the villages, yak pastures, streams, and moraines to reach Kyanjin. Here, we will visit the ancient Kyanjin Gompa, which holds high cultural values to the Tamang community of Langtang region. Kyanjin Gompa hosts a stunning view of Dorje Lakpa (6966m), Langtang Ri (7205m), Langtang Lirung (7234m), and so on. Overnight in lodge.</p>

<p> Today, we take a hike to Tserko Ri (4985m), the highest altitude of our trek. Walking on a steep rocky trail, we arrive at the top of Tserko Ri for an astonishing view of the Langtang Himal range including Langtang Lirung (7234m), Tserko Peak (5749m), Yala Peak (5500m), and so on. We hike back to Kyanjin Gompa and visit its famous yak cheese factory, if interested, you can taste it too. Overnight in lodge.</p>

<p> After an amazing stay in Kyanjin, we retrace our way back to Lama Hotel. Following Langtang Khola to reach Langtang village and then to reach Ghodatabela. After gradual descend along the trails, we reach back to Lama Hotel for the overnight stay.</p>

<p> We move through Sherpa Gaon where the trails are more gorgeous because of the mesmerizing view of the mountains, green landscapes, and Sherpa and Tamang villages. Descend gradually and then steeply to reach Thulo Syabru. Overnight stay at lodge in Thulo Syabru.</p>

<p> Early morning, we start our trek on the trail through pine forests until Brabal. Then, descending through the thick forests, we reach Thulo Bharkhu. After lunch, we drive back to Kathmandu via Dhunche and Trishuli. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to hotel. Overnight at the 3-star hotel.</p>

<p>After breakfast, be ready with your bags and luggage, our vehicle be there to receive you from your hotel and drop you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. Our goodbyes and farewell bade for you with warm gratitude. Have a safe journey!</p>
